04/07/2020 Yard Debris Update:
Beginning on Monday April 6th and until further notice, Republic will be operating under the following guidelines:

* Republic will accept household trash in trash containers (e.g. trash carts, trash toters and personal trash cans).  Their crews will not pick up waste outside of the trash containers.

* For customers who do not have carted service or a personal trash container, Republic will accept household trash placed in secured bags.  Waste set outside of toters and bags at curb will not be accepted.  Bags cannot exceed 50 pounds.

* Yard waste and bulk waste programs have been suspended by the County. During the pandemic, trash companies are working hard to continue to provide trash removal services to their customers. The County mandates that private trash companies are not to collect yard debris.  Please remember that this is only a temporary suspension.

* Residents can try to place small amounts of yard debris in trash containers with their household trash or set out one or two bags of yard debris at the curb. Trash containers completely filled with yard debris will most likely not be collected (exceed weight limit for lifting).  Bulk items will not be picked up.

* Residents are asked to grasscycle/mulch grass clippings into the lawn or have their lawn service contractors remove the yard debris bags.  Residents need to limit the generation of yard waste as much as possible. The I-66 transfer station and I-95 landfill complex are accepting yard debris bags for a minimal fee. The website for the I-95 landfill states that the site is closed to residents but residents are still permitted to drop off yard debris bags for a minimal fee.

The Republic Services team remains committed to the community throughout this crisis and they continue to collect as much household trash and debris as they are able.
